Great state park. Camping on the lake and other sites. Sites with water and electric available. RV sites also available. Cabin rentals - cabins are very nice. Boat/canoe rentals. Nice man made beach with volley ball, trails for hiking, bike riding and horseback. Plenty of showers.
We had an excellent stay at Bear Creek this past week in Cabin 1. This was our first time staying at a State Park. We will be back! It was a great stay and it came with some many helpful items. We checked out the High Bridge that is only 26 minutes away on a small river road. We loved shooting arrows, walking the trails, building fires, and not having tv or electronic distractions. The store before entering the park has a lot more than you would think. Ice cream, pizza, drinks, coal, and much more at great prices. I would recommend staying for the price and Cabin 1 has a path to the lake and isn't close to the other cabins which we enjoyed.
This is a great park. The lake is beautiful. There are canoes and paddle boats for rent, or you can bring your own. The picnic areas are clean and maitained well. The bathroom/bathhouse is extremely clean. I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful facility.
Wonderful staff, great kid areas, offers beautiful cabins, swimming area, clean rest rooms and showers, very clean and cozy cabins with all the amenities, I enjoy being here it's peaceful with beautiful views of the lake and nature they also offer learning structured exhibits teaching a wide variety of things involving nature.
Great park to camp, fish, take a hike, walk or run. They also have good prices for boat rentals. The place is quiet at night for camping and someone will come around to see if you need firewood or anything else. The office also has coffee for sale which is one less thing to pack. A couple of nice trails and play area's for the kids.
